# How to Log Time in Harvest

## Harvest is used to track time spent on projects. Accurate time tracking supports project planning, reporting, and resource management.

### **When to Log Time**

- Daily, or
- At minimum, by the end of each work week

### **Step-by-Step: Logging Time**

1. **Open Harvest**
   
     - Go to the [Harvest website](https://transitionaccelerator.harvestapp.com/time/week/) (or desktop/mobile app)
2. **Select the Correct Projects**
   
     - Choose the projects you are working on
     - Ensure it matches the actual work 
3. **Select the Task**
   
     - Example: Meetings, Research, Admin, etc.
4. **Enter Time Spent**
   
     - Input hours (e.g., 1.5 for 1 hour 30 minutes)
5. **Add Notes (if needed)**
   
     - Briefly describe the work completed
     - Useful for reporting and clarity
6. **Save Entry**

### **Best Practices**

- Log time as you go, not retroactively
- Be specific with project selection
- Use notes when work may not be obvious
